About
In Portuguese, a voo de carreira is a scheduled flight: same days, every week. It's also our founder's family name.
"We start with one plane and four lines. We grow where people fly with us."
I'm building Carreira for people who travel light, travel often, and don't want to pay for things they don't use.
Faro has the sun. Northern Spain and the Azores have the food, the green and the mountains. They're close, yet getting between them usually takes a connection and a whole day. A short direct flight should be simple.
Brandon Carreira, Founder and CEO
A cabin bag in every fare. No checked bags.
Every tax and fee in the price you see.
Direct links timed for day trips and weekends.
Our AI assistant says it's an AI. Ask for a person any time.
At first, an EU-licensed airline flies our aircraft with its own crew and safety certificate. We sell the flights and look after you. Its name is on every booking.
Help
Ticket sales are planned for January 2027, for flights from summer 2027. The list gets in first.
Your seat and one cabin bag: up to 10 kg and 55 × 40 × 20 cm. Every tax and fee is in the price you see.
No. We fly cabin bags only. Mobility aids and medical equipment always travel free.
Choose crypto at checkout and pay in Bitcoin, Ether, USDC or EURC through our licensed EU provider. The price is set in euros and the crypto amount is fixed while you pay. Refunds are paid in euros.
An EU-licensed airline, under a wet lease. It's named as "operated by" on every booking before you pay. You have full EU passenger rights.
They stop for about 45 minutes in Santiago or Bilbao. If you're going on to the Azores, stay in your seat. No passport control.
Turquesa and Prata are travel cards with no shares. Basalto comes with shares in Carreira Airways, S.A. for investments of €250,000 or more. How Basalto works.

Early access to tickets, and founder card prices before anyone else. Invite friends to get in even earlier.

Draft for legal review. Confirm how claims are split with the operating airline in the wet-lease contract.
Every Carreira flight is covered by EU passenger rights law. This is a plain summary. The EU's Your Europe guide has the full rules.
Carreira sells your ticket as a registered travel agency, RNAVT nº ____. The airline shown as "operated by" on your booking flies the aircraft. Contact us first about anything. We'll handle your claim with the operating airline.
You can choose a full refund or another flight. While you wait, you're entitled to meals, drinks and, if needed, a hotel. In many cases you're also owed fixed compensation, unless we told you early enough or the cause was outside anyone's control, such as severe weather.
You're entitled to meals and drinks during a long wait, and a hotel if you're delayed overnight. If the delay is five hours or more, you can choose not to travel and get a refund. Long arrival delays can also bring compensation, depending on the delay and the flight distance.
If you're refused boarding against your will, you're owed compensation and a choice of refund or another flight.
If we take your bag at the aircraft door and it's damaged, delayed or lost, international rules (the Montreal Convention) set what you can claim. Tell us straight away, and within seven days for damage.
If you have reduced mobility or need assistance, it's free. Tell us at least 48 hours before you fly.
Contact the national enforcement body: ANAC in Portugal or AESA in Spain. See our complaints page for other options.
